I won't discount your experience with the Tundra. Assuming you have a 2nd gen
truck, it came out in 2007 and the drive train remained completely unchanged for the entire duration of the 2nd gen. Ford came out with and retired about 3 gens of truck in that time frame. They've also come out with about 5 different engines, all of which have had several versions of their own in that time frame. IOW, your Tundra is pretty ancient tech in the truck world.

Not that I don't have a high opinion of the Tundra, I do. Truth be told, if I was in the market for a full size truck right now, I'd go looking for the last year of the 5.7 engine. One of the last V8s in the truck segment, better than the Nissan V8, and not screwed up with cylinder deactivation like the GM and now Ford remaining V8s. Might be ancient tech, but it sure was reliable. Certainly trust it a heck of a lot more than the turbo V6 that replaced it.

But the F150 is going 0-60 in 6 seconds. Sedans, unless you're going sports car or BMW style luxury, are not getting there any faster. The 1990's 5.0 Mustang from the factory didn't do it that fast.
