SL Trib made $1.1 million profit in most recent tax filings They still have a
negative net worth. (Per 2022 tax filing Form 990. 2023 is not available yet.)
Non-profits are allowed to make a profit, they just don't pay taxes on it.
Consider your credit union. They are not for profit. Would you bank with them if they lost money each year? No, you want your money safe by them making a profit.
