I can't remember who BYU was playing or even who won the game, but this is what I remember.
Ainge had the ball outside and it was stolen from him. The opponent was racing down the court for an uncontested layup. Danny immediately chased after him and dove headlong from behind, stretched both arms and hands out as far as he could, caught the ball at the bottom of the plyer's dribble and regained possession. It was an unbelievable play. As a pretty decent basketball player myself back in the day, I couldn't even imagine that a play like that was possible, but Danny made it. That's the kind of athlete and competitor he was.
