They definitely deviated w the outcome. I did like the strong career woman-widow role. But rendering her
ultimately helpless in the end — to fall back on her most basic humanity as a mother — to win the day.

I also liked the wrinkle of the "Asian" alien who chose to stay & die with us humans. Nice touch.
