It seems like a very weird power move. That more than likely dis-empowers both the coach & the player.
If a HC wants a player off the team — then he needs to remove him.
No games.
What Trey did wasn't cool. But holding a team vote to remove him for it — doesn't seem all that more professional than the pouty sit-out.
