You can hardly buy a house for less than $500k anymore, first of all.
But I also disagree with the general premise. Just because someone is rich doesn’t mean they are exempt from service or don’t deserve it.

Do wealthy wards not give meals to a family if someone is hospitalized? Surely they can afford takeout…

Do wealthy wards not provide a meal after a funeral? Surely they can pay someone to cater.

Do wealthy wards not help clean up the neighborhood after a big storm? Surely they can pay a professional to clear away a downed tree.

It’s just service. If you don’t want to help someone move in, then don’t help.
