I had an IPad break the other day after about 14-15 months because something internal broke with routine use that made it so it could no longer charge. I paid for Apple Care and they replaced it free of charge. If I hadn't paid for Apple Care, why would I expect that they would be on the hook unless they had a return policy that guaranteed performance for more than the initial 30 days? That would be kind of ridiculous.
