When I was in graduate school there was a woman who was from Alabama, did her undergrad at Alabama, and was very passionate about Alabama football. We were all talking about college football one day and how we were frustrated/happy with our team's performance in the prior year, and someone was like "oh yeah, my team had a bad year, it was really disappointing, we didn't make bowl". She then tried to join in and be relatable by saying "I remember when Alabama lost the championship game in [can't remember the year] I was so sad". There was a Georgia fan there as well, and this was before the modern era when they have been really good. Based on the look on his face I thought he was going to start screaming at her. I think he had to walk away because he was so mad. Poor guy.
