I think the Ecoboost vs coyote comments from techs comes down to
simplicity of maintenance.
I’d wager at this stage of their evolutions they are both pretty reliable.
The coyote is one of the simpler V8s and easy to wrench on and maintain from what I gather.

2016? Toyota 5.7 V8, even if you aren’t considering it. I’d go pushrod hemi or GM after that.

I drove a 2013 3.5L ecoboost for almost 10 years. I did indeed have a problem with the turbo, but it was like a $300 fix
