I'm not an ENT, but yes those are viable solutions. She may have fluid build up
in the Eustachian tube- tubes in the ear drum a lot of times can help relieve that. Many times allergies can contribute to inflammation in the eustachian tube. I would be surprised if a doctor hasn't told her this already but I would start an anti-histamine and flonase as these are pretty benign treatments. Usually the ENT doctor will suggest this first line anyways.
