I'm with Manic on this one. if BYU bleachers are 12 inches deep, there should be no issue (pic).
I bought sports beats as well. They are exactly 12 inches deep, and with the hooks the slight overhang would actually be at your own calf, not off the backside. And the seat backs are MUCH sturdier than the lame rentals.
