And for small market teams, the NBA draft is (by far) the best way to get a top ten player. (Examples, Malone, Stockton, Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Anthony Edwards, SGA, Chet Holmgren, Giannis, Lillard, Luka, Lebron in Cleveland) and the list goes on.
So tank for a top 10 player or two, then use all your picks from the Gobert, Mitchell, Markennan trades to draft potential role players and trade for established role players. That is the exact same playbook the Thunder followed and look where they are.
I get that rebuilding is painful, but it’s time for the Jazz to embrace the tank.
