Johnny Bench was at the end of his career and some loudmouth in the stands(not me) was screaming at Bench that “YOUR OLD,RETIRE,YOU STINK” Bench smacks a Homerun. Next time up,the guys screaming that he got lucky and was still a bum. You know were this is going,Bench hits his second HR of the game,finally shutting up the heckler.
In the car after the game,Bench was being interviewed on the Cubs postgame show and he mentioned how a fan had motivated him that day.
