Sitting in the hospital surgery center waiting for the HCBW to come back from her annual colonoscopy. 2 1/2 yrs ago was
waiting in the parking lot due to Covid protocols and got a call that the Dr. wanted to see me and they’d let me in to the waiting area. Not a good feeling.
We got news she had a tumor in the cecum at the base of the ascending colon. Long story short, she had surgery to remove a third of her colon (cecum and entire ascending colon). Small intestine was sectioned into the transverse colon. All lymph nodes and everything associated with the ascending colon was removed.
We were blessed that it was still stage 2 with no spread, and oncologist said no chemo was necessary.
Last year had a couple small benign polyps removed. If clear this time, she gets to go 5 yrs til the next. Has semi-annual visits to the oncologist and full blood work.

Don’t delay, get it done.
