that beat Utah for the first time took part in the beach landing/invasion at Okinawa, had his foot trapped in the giant metal door shredding his knee ligaments (likely saving his life), ending his football career & leading to a lifetime of knee pain. He hardly said a word of his experiences to anyone including his own children (we found out mostly from stories told by Grandma).

He was a lifelong Cougar fan who started taking me to games when he saw I was interested in sports at a really young age & was the person most responsible for my BYU fandom.
