A lot of relationship 101 is finding things in common.
We have guys from the Bay Area (fanning), SoCal (burgess), Georgia (KY), Vermont (voigt), Pennsylvania (Linehan), Illinois (Dunson), and New Jersey (Stewart). And of course Burgess has been working the local connections for nearly a decade now.
That's good representation across the country, to go along with all the international experience.
From a talent evaluation standpoint, something that may be unique is that with so much mid/high level international experience, Fanning's time at Overtime Elite, and the G League guys we'll have a good eye for a Euro/G League level talent vs an NBA kid.
And while every elite program has a compelling pitch to the AJ's of the world (we've had X lottery picks be the next), our staff may be really appealing to the JJ Mandequit level players who are 4 star top 50-100 kids and we clearly know the difference between just outside the NBA vs in it, and can begin sharing those insights from day one.
I like it.
