I think the KY pitch matters a lot for a #1 pick.
It isn’t just “I can get you to the league”. - it is more “I will prepare you for the league better than anyone else”
That matter to most high end recruits - their choice of college will impact where they go in the draft and how well prepared they are for the NBA.
