Here is the problem.
Nobody really knows how JC stats will translate to D1. Some kids make the move without missing a beat.
Other kids find that the step up is too much.

Case in point for one of our players from this past year:
SLCC 2023 370 BA. 566 SLG. 457 OBP. 1023 OPS.
BYU 2024 177 BA. 241 SLG. 250 OBP. 491 OPS.

In that case it didn't carry over at all. I am sure that he is much better than those 2024 stats suggest. Great kid.
I think he got off to a bad start, started pressing and it snowballed. But you just never know. There are multiple examples of
players who have come to BYU as highly touted JC transfers who didn't pan out at all. Others have stepped in
and been key components to good teams.
