I would take an athlete that can rip off Nordic hamstring curls over any
other lift.
I think it’s a top 2-3 lift for speed development and probably the best lift for injury (ACL, hamstring) prevention.

Lifted legs yesterday. I mostly do various squats and lunges holding light weights to avoid triggering my lower back.

I see no reason whatsoever to do hamstring curls or leg extensions if you aren't a bodybuilder.
