But I definitely understand taking a current issue they’re having, and projecting it out into the future - imagining what the impact would be, possible scenarios and problems, etc. But things change so much as time goes on, especially with kids, that you’re rarely dealing with the exact same thing years into the future (mostly because you’re dealing with a whole different version of them in the future).
It’s so hard to stop yourself from imagining the future with your current set of problems, but that’s rarely the way it goes- the problems will change. Hopefully she’ll make some steady improvements and will be more capable of making those good decisions on her own as she matures. In the meantime, hang in there. Sounds like you guys are doing a great job.
