coach category; Kalani is a great man but will never get above the "good" coach level.
When Whitt retires, the U is in trouble. I don't care how high the opinion of their Asst. Coach is, the qualities that make a great coach aren't their knowledge of Xs & Os. Lavell had it, Saben has it, Whitt has it, but there is only a handful that do. There's probably less than a 5% chance a Whitt successor will have the vision, intuition, ability to motivate players to a higher level, etc. that he does.
When that day comes (probably within 2-5 years) the U's claim to fame will be W. gymnastics and skiing.
