I don’t agree with you that he doesn’t have a jump shot, as I see him hitting a lot of 4-10 shots. One of the least effective shots with the5 men out offense, according to analytics, is a 12-18 foot jump shot. They want lay ups or to make the extra pass for the 3.
He has the agility and ability to drive or back his man down into the paint, where he can either pass out for a corner 3 or use his footwork for a layup or turnaround shot. He needs to work on using the glass more, ala Tim Duncan, as he easily would shake his man and then miss a gimme. With an NBA coach, whose focus was offense, these are things he will be taught and be asked to use to help him and his teammates.
Young will be pushing him to work on his passing, as he proved he could do it, after watching how effective Kalifa was, when Fouss was injured. When he returned, Fouss started putting more of Kalifa’s mindset into his game, instead of just being a hole, that never passed out once getting the ball. It all went to trusting his teammates and knowing that they would hit the shot or get it back to him, once he established better low positioning. I see less Hero Ball, this season.
