& I first heard about Gibb from yewt fans who claimed they had her in the bag — which made me look up her youtube vids — & so I wasn't happy at all when I first caught sight of how good the girl was. (I wasn't even sure we were recruiting her.)

And then the next thing I knew she was signing w Whiting.

The yewts under Roberts had been kicking Juddy's butt with recruiting (& were starting to dominate him on the court w much more talented players). Something had to change, obviously. To me it looked like our recruiting approach wasn't even all that serious under Juddy. We rarely ever swung all that hard for any major recruits (Gonzales was a pretty big exception — though I sense she & her family made it pretty easy for Juddy). And our international yields were not of the caliber to justify the overseas costs. To me it looked like our staff was using their budget to spin wheels — rather than rolling their sleeves up & going to war for the recruits that other quality programs really wanted.
