in the NFL. Talented yes, leader not super impressive. Utah has had a solid program over the past several years, but USC and P12 were down in general. It has been awesome for Utah to be sure. I think people are a little surprised that Utah considers it a storied rivalry where USC and their fans see it more as an annoyance (I lived in LA and have family and friends who are huge SC fans) and an anomaly.
Michigan lost 17 out of 23 games to Ohio State in the past 23 seasons and had two losing streaks of 8 straight in that time period. Winning 3 straight against SC isn't a rivalry maker.
Even 9 straight against BYU isn't the tectonic shift everyone purported, especially when BYU was in the throes of independence.
That said, I see SC as a program that has underperformed with their talent level for years and I like to see them lose to both BYU and Utah.
