That's usually the way it works. Coaches take players with them.
People have suggested BYU's players aren't good enough for Kentucky and would receive no interest from Pope, but I think that's wrong as you have to consider how they would be utilized and the fact that they already know the coach's system and expectations. A player or two can be really important in terms of setting the expectations in the locker room. We don't typically think of UVU and BYU as recruiting the same type of players, but we got a couple of UVU's best players when Pope came over to BYU and I don't know why we would expect anything different with this move.

Hall is a very good floor general who has shown he can be effective on both ends of the court in a top college conference. He's solid on defense, he knows Pope's system, and he'll likely set a good tone as a leader in the locker room (work ethic, respect, etc.), even if he's more of a glue guy and not a star on the team. If he's been offered a spot at Kentucky he's almost certainly gone and there's nothing we can do about it. It will be a huge loss for our team as he was very good in so many facets of the game (excepting his play in the last 5 seconds of any game where a game-winning play/shot is needed).

Jaxson Robinson needs to show more to get into the first round of the NBA draft, particularly in terms of being more aggressive and making a splash when teams key in on him. A good year at Kentucky would be a game-changer for him and so, like Hall, if Pope wants him at Kentucky then he's also gone. This one hurts too, but he was far from a lock for coming back and going to Kentucky will be no different than him leaving to play in Europe.

Chandler is a big-time recruit with a lot of potential and he more closely fits the prototypical Kentucky recruit mold, so a Kentucky offer wouldn't be surprising.

With all that said, there's more to life than just basketball and any single LDS guy that wants LDS girls to date might be hesitant to move to Lexington Kentucky. It's not like Provo is the only place for good dating options as basically anywhere out west (AZ, CA, NV, UT, CO), will provide that same opportunity and will be close to home for many of these players, but the same cannot be said for Lexington Kentucky.
