It’s an i4, minor technicality. Problem is global TNGA-F architecture. They didn’t make 3 SUVs, they
Made 1, the Land Cruiser 300 (LX600) then lengthened the wheelbase for the sequoia, but apparently the platform can’t go smaller.
So the GX550, LX600, Land Cruiser and 4Runner are pretty much dimensionally and drivetrain identical. (Sure the big expensive boys get the V6, but the running gear will be the same).
So yeah, it’s a big *meh* from me and I’m practically a Toyota fanboy.
Would have been awesome had they kept it the same size as the outgoing model, or better yet went smaller.
Take a risk and go 4door and 2-door short and take it to Bronco and Jeep.
Instead they were platform limited, more of the same..
