Utah blew out mid level and low level Pac-12 teams. The MOV is exceptional.
Utah also blew out an Oregon team that won in Columbus. And blew them out...twice.
BYU faced a similar Oregon team the following season and looked overmatched.
That reveals that BYU was great at beating the lower end teams in close games. But struggled in tougher road venues and with higher quality teams.
Utah could manhandle both.
Then Utah did it again the following year. A big deal, as you'll see, because it means that you don't just win with a favorable home schedule.
You can win when the home / road is reversed. SDSU, Florida, Oregon State, UCLA...all the teams Utah lost to, got spanked when they came back to SLC.
W/o OU and Texas, most of the Big 12 will be mid-level. CU, ASU, AZ and BYU haven't improved enough to suddenly turn the tides on Utah.
That's 44% of the schedule. Schools that Utah has been beating 75%+ of the time.
