That is all good in theory, but since we don't know when we will die, or how
much support like long term care we might need, that just isn't going to work out most of the time.

If you plan poorly and run out of money because of it, then you are a burden on your kids. I would much rather have too much than do that. Bottom line is enjoy your life, but don't be foolish and end up being a burden to your kids.
