that proved to be the eventual scoreline because the best offense in the country didn't manage to get a pair back in the next 85 minutes. But the game wasn't over after the first 5 minutes. If it was, why even bother playing the rest of the game?
BYU had moooore than enough opps to score. Missed a couple gimmes. Twice shot from a tough angle the keeper had covered when they had a wide open teammate (or two) 3 yards out that a simple push passes scores. Consistently out headed by a shorter Stanford team in the box on corners and crosses. And good looks they put right at the keeper.
They had a chance to score 3-4 goals. If XPG stats were keeps, BYU probably is between 3-4 goals. They lost 2-0 because they didn't finish as they should have. Giving up 2 quick goals dug them a huge hole, but their play the rest of the game was such that they should've netted more than that on the other end.
