It's why much of the USC game seemed chaotic at times. Lots of misplaced passes because the ball was wet and the field was slick and it obviously affected BYU's rhythmic passing they've made an art form at times in more ideal conditions. It took them a while to get a feel for how to handle the ball and how much touch to put into it when passing.
While conditions will probably be similar come Friday night, it'll also be much colder so a wet ball in sub freezing temps will get really heavy, stiff, and hard. Like kicking a rock around.
