There is a reason that many schools consistently use the RPO over traditional
Run and pass schemes. The biggest being that defenses have to make one more read before they attack. Retzlaff's success passing was on the quick game (besides the pick 6). His traditional drop back was not as successful. Solivs has the better arm all day long, but those feet are a game changer.

Hall, Wilson, Hill all had more success when they ran. Slovis isn't fast enough to make it a true threat, so they run more traditional run/pass plays.

The challenge is, and we saw it with all of our running qb's, injury. Really hard to hold up if you get contact that many plays a game. Taysom and Jaren are both examples of that.

I have been on the Slovis train and think he should not lose his job because of injury, but my opinion changed Saturday. We finally sustained multiple drives. We looked like an offense again.
