It's the dealership model that's the issue. Tesla doesn't have dealerships, established vehicle manufactures still do.
It would be hard for them to switch, with dealership laws in every state. Tesla was able to circumnavigate as they grew, while the Fords of the world just can't do that, at least not immediately.
The whole thing is a mess really.

Curious, what about the 460 didn't you love? I've heard they are smooth as butter. Sequoia has more space of course
