Just remembered one from Island Park
My wife and I were staying in a cabin at a place called Elk Creek Ranch. The location has a bunch of cabins but they are all a bit on their own rather than being right next to one another. We're celebrating an anniversary and it is probably 10 or 11pm.

We suddenly hear a blood curdling scream from a woman just outside our cabin. Like the kind you'd imagine as someone is attacked. I hurry and get decent for going outside and grab a flashlight (my only defense) and go outside and start yelling, "Are you okay? Anybody out here? I heard a scream. Is everyone alright? Hello? Can I help you? Hello?"

I was feeling like the dummy in the horror film who gets himself killed. I gave up after about 5 minutes as it was pitch black, I'm in the forest by myself with nothing but a crappy flashlight and my fists and was feeling a bit exposed. So I head back in and talk with my wife. We're both pretty freaked out as we were certain it was a woman's scream. We lock the front door and make sure all windows are locked. But I get into the kitchen and there is a big hole in the floor that goes to the crawl space under the cabin. Wide open. Now I'm feeling not that safe in the cabin. We headed into the bedroom and locked that door and slid the dresser in front of the door. In the room my only defense was a lamp that could have made a version of a weapon. We hardly slept all night knowing someone had screamed but not responded afterward and that the cabin was easy to get into from the crawl space.

Finally morning came and we went to the central cabin to have breakfast. We asked the server if she knew of anyone hurt or missing from the prior night. She looked a bit uncomfortable with the question and our explanation of what had happened the night before and she headed to the kitchen kind of in an hurry. A different server came out and explained that the other girl had been the last to head back to the bunkhouse the night before and they had been hiding as she walked through the dark. They jumped out and scared her and she screamed bloody murder. They had gone back to the bunkhouse after and didn't hear me yelling so they didn't let me know it was just a prank on that girl. But she'd been embarrassed to keep serving us since her scream had ruined our night.

So kind of funny ending after a pretty terrifying night.
