To help you understand, note how one team in each game is 0
This graph assumes you know that your net success rate is the exact opposite of your opponent's. It's impossible to have one team in a game have a net success rate of 0.22 and the other 0.00. In reality, it's 0.22 and -0.22 (or .11 and -.11, depending on how the graph calculates it).

Therefore, Nebraska's net success rate is negative Michigan's net success rate. This number is significantly lower than BYU's net success rate.
