Here is a pic of a marmot vs a porcupine.
The flattened “quills” look more like the hair on a marmot when it’s roadkilled. In my experience a porcupine has a lot more bushier quills after it’s been flattened.
It may be a porcupine, but I’d say 80% sure it’s a marmot. Also definitely not a Wolverine.

Sadly, this was a roadkill wolverine and it had a tracker on it, and he had covered about 200 miles recently
