that’s all well and good. Here is a pic of me roasting a marmot over a fire.
marmots don’t have extremely rough fur around their neck (underside). look how coarse it is. Their fur is soft and usually a golden brown color.
Marmots absolutely get that big though.
I see porcupines alongside of the road 3-4x/yr headed to our cabin. Stopped to scoop one to the shoulder last year.

Sadly, this was a roadkill wolverine and it had a tracker on it, and he had covered about 200 miles recently
