For example, none of the 4C schools really meet the criteria that Yormark laid out for the ideal B12 candidate about 6 months ago, and the B12 was courting the 4C schools throughout that entire period.

I would speculate that Yormark's goal was likely to get a couple of the 4C schools to move first, weakening the PAC and forcing some action from UO/UW. If UO/UW get a B10 invite (which may happen here shortly), then the plan can change. But it also looks like Fox is not a fan of the B12 taking all 4 of 4C considering they only approved a 2 team pro rata. And Yormark's (and presumably also the B12's) #1 criteria has always been being additive, so if Fox is unwilling to pay pro rata for the remaining two 4C schools, that would suggest those schools are dilutive.

Now, that's not to say that ASU is worse than UA, I actually suspect that the B12 has very little preference between the two. But there's diminishing returns on a second AZ school, and UA has been significantly more amenable to joining the B12. So if ASU gets left out, I would think a large portion of the blame probably falls on Crow.
