I was trying to locate some video of old BYU games for a gift I was putting together for my dad. Michael (then Kugrmaniac) boardmailed me and said he had nearly every game on VHS tape from the 70's and 80's, and could rip some DVD's for me. He then sent me the first ever nationally broadcast BYU game in 77 (I think) vs. SDSU with Gifford Nielsen, along with a few other games, including the 1984 Holiday Bowl with bonus footage of Michael himself reporting for a news station in Idaho, doing a special feature on BYU's national title season. The feature has some awesome clips from LaVell and national media at the time, and was quite nicely done. It remains a treasured piece in my collection. He did this all out of the goodness of his heart for a fellow avid Cougar fan.
I know he posted and did a lot of things that would leave you scratching your head, and he rubbed people the wrong way, but NO ONE can question what he had in common with many/most of us here on CB - he was a TRUE BLUE crazy Cougar fan. He deserves all of our respect for that. Rest in peace, brother.
