CougarTailDevourer The Dude Abides
Average time for a century ride is 6.5 hours. I've been MTBiking for 13 years.
And have done tons of epics, and did some road biking before that. Imo, MTBiking is way way more physically taxing than road biking. Can I do a century ride? Probably. That 40 miler (earlier post) I did was actually a triathlon (Lazy Man Iron Man that I put off much of the miles till the last day) and did a mile swim and a bunch of running afterwords. The swim was much much harder than the bike ride.

Would I want to do a century ride? Never, ever. Your lycra covered bum is unfortunately not enough to hold my attention for that long. I would literally die of boredom.

Now if you pay me $420,000 I will do a century ride tomorrow.
