2015 was very similar. 108F and several didn’t finish. They ran out of water
at the bike aid station for mile 70. My pee was black but I was determined/dumb enough to finish. My body temperature was fluctuating for 2 days afterwards. Brutal.
2015 was the year Scott Smiley did the race. He is 100% blind from a car bomb when he was a marine. One of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen was him crossing the finish line.
