FWIW, the Serena shades are *great*. Even when installing them, you can tell how quality they are.
I understand saving 80% winning out, but I love my Lutron shades. 😀

I was aware of the IKEA shades but I’m ignorant about what kind of blade one needs to cut through aluminum

Non ferrous metal blade. I got mine from Harbor Freight.

This is the blade i use.. but you can also just use a hacksaw and cut it by hand.
