This may or may not be true. On average the season tickets are more expensive
than the same tickets can be sold on the secondary market with a few exceptions if BYU is undefeated and a ranked team comes in. Once a loss happens the secondary prices drop by half or more. There may be large amounts of donors waiting to buy these tickets and would if they could get them for the season, but the demand is not showing that on the secondary market. It is somewhat apples to oranges, but I get people asking about tickets often and when they hear the price they are shocked. They are over 200+ a game. Many original donors aren't happy with the prices but pay them in order to keep the rights. So BYU may be able to charge more than they would on the open market.
