The Black Sand Beach is a fun excursion. It's pretty remote but cool. We always stay in the Waikoloa area. There's a Hilton and a Marriott there. Great golf all around if that's your thing. There's a small temple in Kona that's a fun thing to do. I don't think it's open every day so check the schedule.
