This amount of water can be catastrophic, I lived through a hurricane on my mission
I was in a small mountain town in the Dominican Republic when a hurricane came through. A river that went through the middle of the town, essentially moved 50 feet over to one direction, because of the huge flooding of water during the hurricane. So every home on that side of the river was completely washed away.
