I hate it, but it does make sense
I think I’ll always gripe about it a bit but it really would be nice to see some more variety of scheme.

BYU's defense was on the field for 880 plays, their offense for 868. That's a difference of 0.92 plays per game.

We had one of the top offenses in the country and still were at a deficit. The defense is the reason.

BYU led the nation in total offense in 1984 and only ran 2.5 plays per game more than their opponents
