I think you misread?
I totally agree with that point. Utah is a public institution that services a different need, and obviously has less stringent academic minimums - and I’m sure standardized test scores (ACT/GPA for example) would support that incoming BYU students have better academic profiles. Just as comparing Stanford to say UCI would show that incoming Stanford students have higher baseline academic metrics.

Given that my field is medicine - that doesn’t change my opinion that if one wanted to go into the medical field…one can get there just as easily by going to either BYU or Utah. The individual performance/drive is what determines whether or not one gets there, and has less to do with where one went to undergrad.
