I think about my Dad's passing and what a blessing it was for him to be at ...
...home surrounded by family. I'm the 9th of 10 kids in our family and was living with my wife and our first baby in Anchorage close to where my parents lived. My Dad was 70 yo and had advanced Parkinson's Disease and was unable to do much for himself. He had a doctor appt and asked me for a priesthood blessing before he went. In his blessing God told him that he had just enough time left to gather his family together one last time. We had several family members living in the lower 48 (Utah and AZ) and it was the week of Thanksgiving so getting flights wasn't going to be easy but one by one every family member made it home and my last brother arrived on Friday and had time to visit with Dad. That night he passed away in his sleep. True to his blessing he had just enough time to gather and see his family together one last time.

What a tender mercy to be able to pass from this life with those that you love around you, You, your Dad and family are in my prayers that things will work for you to be able to do what you hope for him and that the Holy Ghost will comfort all when his time comes.
