the program's ceiling too low. BYU has managed to stay relevant for years even without P5 inclusion, and now as a P5 I fully expect BYU to compete well in the Big12.

An average program would be just borderline P5. In the new Big12, BYU's fan base and facilities are right at the top of the conference. That's not really just average. BYU has been dealt a particularly rough hand the past decade, but there's no reason to believe the teams can't catch up with the BYU brand as a P5 in the coming years. Passionate fans have every reason to be optimistic about the future.
