Ty will always be revered by this fanbase regardless of his coaching involvement
during the Sitake regime and what did or did not happen and what blame should be assigned or not and to whom as result. Everyone has lived, learned, and moved on as a result, including Ty — to his credit.

He handled that whole spectacle with dignity and class, despite how the 2017 season played out, and we can all learn a lot from the way he handled that entire situation, IMO. He is still a demigod in the BYU universe and always will be.

I could tell the story of how I met and got to to know him over the course of sitting next to him in a 1988 BYU religion class (we sat next to each other via assigned seating) when he was a completely unrecognized true freshman on the football team and a non-member, but I'll save that for another day. (I will just say that he wore a cowboy hat and boots to class on a regular basis, had a really prominent Texas drawl (at the time), has a great sense of humor, and I got to know him well enough that he gave me a birthday card later that year). Great guy, a QB legend, and an even better ambassador for BYU.

GO COUGS.
