The problem is that it would require either the ACC or Big 12 to fold. Actually, I guess we're pretty close to that being determined right now.
It doesn't have to be limited to 16 teams, either. Up to 20 per conference could conceivably work, though bigger is harder. But the finances would have to change for it to be worthwhile for the Alabamas and tOSUs to sign off.
